Assam: 600 cartons of illegal liquor seized in Kamrup, two held

Guwahati/IBNS: The Assam excise department have seized an illegal liquor laden truck in Assam’s Kamrup district.

The excise department officials and police have also arrested two persons in connection with it.

Based on an intelligence input, excise department officials and police had conducted an operation at Baihata Chariali area in Kamrup district on Wednesday evening and seized a liquor laden truck which was coming from Arunachal Pradesh’s Naharlagun area.

The excise officials and police recovered 600 cartons of illegal liquor from the truck and arrested two persons.

The arrested persons were identified as Alifuddin and Jahangir Ali and a case was registered at Baihata police station.
