Assam: 2 school girls found hanging from tree in Karimganj

Guwahati, Sept 5 (IBNS): Two school girls were found hanging from the ends of a same rope in a tree in Assam’s Karimganj district along with Indo-Bangladesh border on Thursday, police said on Friday.

Local people of Nilambazar area in the bordering district had recovered the body of the girls, who were found hanging from the ends of a same rope in a tree in the dense forest area.

Local people had suspected that, the girls, one of class X student and another class IX student were first raped and then killed.

“We had already sent the bodies to hospital for postmortem and forensic test,” Karimganj district ASP Nabin Singh said.

The girls were missing from Wednesday evening and the family members and local people had the bodies on Thursday morning.

Police has started investigation into the killing incident.
