Khemka has been been removed as Transport Commissioner and given a position in the department of Archaeology and Museums.

Media reports said Khemka fell out with state Transport Minister Ram Bilas Sharma over the easing of rules for overloaded vehicles.

He tweeted his sadness over the transfer posting: "Tried hard to address corruption and bring reforms in Transport despite severe limitations and entrenched interests. Moment is truly painful."

The 49-year-old IAS was the Transport Commissioner and Secretary,Transport Department, Government of Haryana.

He was earlier supported by the BJP when a land deal between Vadra and real estate major DLF  struck in 2012 was challenged by him.

The sale by Vadra of 3.5 acres of land in Gurgaon near Delhi for 57 crores was objected the senior bureaucrat.

Khemka was transferred within days of cancelling that deal.
