Asaduddin Owaisi digs at Congress, BJP for hypocrisy over religion

| @indiablooms | Nov 30, 2017, at 04:47 pm

Hyderabad, Nov 30 (IBNS): While the BJP and the Congress are busy attacking each other over Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi's alleged entry to Somnath Temple as a 'non-Hindu', AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi on Wednesday took a dig at both the Congress leader and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, considering them hypocrite when the matter comes down to religion.

Owaisi in a tweet attempted to hit the two principal parties of the country. "Cong says it’s VP is Hindu & janeu dhari (BRAHMAN) BJP says their Leader Modi is Hindu (& OBC ) This is very esteemed club something like 'Old School Boys Network' people like me are denied entry as I am only communal ,rest are Secular,Nationalist......"

The controversy erupted on Wednesday after Rahul's name was reportedly listed in the register of non-Hindu visitors in  Somnathtemple of Gujarat.

Rahul visited the temple on Wednesday as he is presently busy in campaigning in Gujarat for the upcoming poll.

'Somnath Temple' emerged as a top trending issue on Twitter following the episode.

The party clarified that images circulating on social media purportedly showing party vice president Rahul Gandhi registering as a non-Hindu during his trip to the temple was fake.

Congress tweeted: "Clarification: There is only one visitor's book at Somnath Temple that was signed by Congress VP Rahul Gandhi. Any other image being circulated is fabricated. Desperate times call for desperate measures?"

The Gujarat poll will be held in two phases, on Dec 9 and Dec 14.

The counting of the votes will take place on Dec 18.
