Mumbai/IBNS: Superstar Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan on Friday recorded his statement with the Delhi unit of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in connection with the Mumbai drugs-on-cruise case.

The Delhi unit of the anti-drug probe agency had taken over the investigation from its Mumbai zonal director Sameer Wankhede, amid a huge controversy over allegations of extortion.

Aryan's statement was recorded at a camp of the Rapid Action Force in Navi Mumbai, media reports quoting sources have said.

The NCB's special investigation team from Delhi took over six cases from Wankhede including some sensitive ones connected with the entertainment sector.

Earlier a five-member team from the vigilance section of the NCB was appointed to investigate the bribery allegations against Wankhede made by a man named as a witness in the drugs case.

Wankhede is also facing a series of allegations from Maharashtra minister Nawab Malik that range from extortion to illegal phone tapping.

His father, Dhyandev Kachruji Wankhede, had filed a defamation suit against Nawab Malik at the Bombay High Court, claiming damage of Rs 1.25 crore.

Aryan Khan was released on bail after spending 22 days in jail.

The NCB did not find drugs on him, but claimed in court that his WhatsApp chats revealed his involvement in "illicit drug deals" and nexus with a foreign drugs cartel.
