Arvind Kejriwal ropes in Prashant Kishor for Delhi assembly polls

New Delhi/IBNS: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal has roped in political strategist Prashant Kishor for the upcoming Delhi assembly elections which will be held in early 2020.

Kishor's political advocacy group I-PAC will help Kejriwal to seek another term as the Delhi Chief Minister.

Kejriwal tweeted on Saturday, "Happy to share that @indianpac is coming on-board with us. Welcome aboard!"

I-PAC has put up a tweet, "After Punjab results, we acknowledged you as the toughest opponent that we have ever faced. Happy to join forces now with @ArvindKejriwal and @AamAadmiParty."

After the dismal performance in the 2019 General Elections, Trinamool Congress (TMC) chief Mamata Banerjee roped in Kishor and signed a deal till 2021 West Bengal assembly polls in the state.

Six months after the Lok Sabha polls, the TMC won all the three seats where by-elections were held in November, giving hope to Mamata to seek third straight term as the Chief Minister.

Kishor, who is a member of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's Janata Dal (United), had also helped Narendra Modi to win the 2012 Gujarat assembly elections and the 2014 Lok Sabha polls.

Kishor has also worked for and helped YSRCP chief Jagan Mohan Reddy to win the Andhra Pradesh assembly elections in 2019 by a thumping majority.

However, the strategist had a tough time in Uttar Pradesh as he failed to taste success while working with Congress in the northern state in 2017.
