Army promotes Green Sikkim Clean Sikkim Drive

Kolkata, Sept 3 (IBNS): The Army is conducting a tri- services expedition in North Sikkim to show case the spirit of jointness and camaraderie among three services of the Armed Forces, promote Green Sikkim Clean Sikkim drive and foster harmony between the Armed Forces and the local populace from Saturday.

The expedition was flagged off by General Officer Commanding Striking Lion Division on Saturday from Yumthang and will cover a distance of 220 kms up to Sevoke in North Bengal.

The team, comprising of 32 members from Army, Navy and Air Force and being led by Maj Kabir Lamba, will be braving harsh climate and inhospitable terrain during the expedition.

This expedition, besides conveying an environmental message, will also showcase the indomitable spirit of adventure, grit and determination that these warriors possess.
