Srinagar/IBNS: Two militants were killed on Wednesday as security forces foiled an infiltration bid along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Uri sector of Kashmir's Baramulla district, the Indian Army said.

The bid was foiled by joint forces of the Army and JK Police in the Uri sector.

"In a Joint Operation launched by #IndianArmy & @JmuKmrPolice, an infiltration bid has been foiled today by alert troops along #LOC in Uri Sector, #Baramulla. Two Terrorists have been eliminated along with the recovery of 02xAK Rifles, 02xPistols, 04xHand Grenades & other war-like stores," Army's Srinagar-based Chinar Corps said in a post on X.

The operation is in progress and UNi quoting sources reported that the militants tried to take advantage of poor visibility and bad weather.

Last week, BSF Director General Nitin Agrawal said that there are always attempts from across to push in more militants before the onset of winter and the closure of tracks due to heavy snowfall.
