Anil Ambani steps down as director of Reliance Communications

Mumbai/UNI/IBNS: Anil Ambani has resigned as director of debt-strapped Reliance Communications, the company said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange on Saturday.

According to the filing, Chhaya Virani, Ryna Karani, Manjari Kacker, Suresh Rangachar have also resigned as directors of RCom.

The chief financial officer of the debt-ridden company Manikantan V has also resigned, the filing said.

RCom, which is currently going through insolvency process, has posted a consolidated loss of Rs 30,142 crore for July-September 2019 due to provisioning for liabilities after the Supreme Court ruling on statutory dues.

RCom's total liability includes Rs 23,327 crore licence fee and Rs 4,987 crore spectrum usage charges.
