Hyderabad, July 23 (IBNS): Andhra Pradesh has become the first state to reserve private jobs for local youth, a promise which was made by Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy during his padyatra (roadshow) to people of the state.

The Jagan government has reserved 75% of jobs for local youth in industrial units, factories, joint ventures and projects which are set up under the mode of public-private partnership.

According to the Andhra Pradesh Employment of Locals Candidates in Industries/Factories,2019, if a company can't find necessary skills in locals then it will have to train them in association with the state government.

Apart from Andhra, several other state governments have promised to make reservations in jobs for local youth.

Jagan, who heads the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP), became the Chief Minister in May after his party had defeated Nara Chandrababu Naidu's Telegu Desam Party (TDP).
