Amritpal Singh crackdown: Road traffic on Hoshiarpur-Phagwara-Ludhiana route suspended
Hoshiarpur: The road traffic on Hoshiarpur-Phagwara-Ludhiana route has been suspended due to ongoing cordon and search operation launched by the police late Tuesday night in and around village Marnaian following inputs that radical preacher Amritpal Singh and his aides could be hiding there.
Hoshiarpur Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal said that traffic movement has been suspended on Hoshiarpur-Phagwara-Ludhiana road for security reasons due to cordon and search operation conducted by the police at village Marnaian.
However, police have made diversions passing through various villages to help commuters. The bus traffic to and from Ludhiana and Phagwara has been diverted via Jalandhar road, said she.
She confirmed that the cordon and search operation in and around village Marnaian was still going on.
