Amit Shah's letter insulting to people of Andhra Pradesh: Chandrababu Naidu
New Delhi, Mar 24 (IBNS): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has hit back at Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Amit Shah for calling the Telegu Desam Party (TDP)'s decision to quit the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government "unilateral".
Taking on Shah on Twitter, Naidu said: "Deeply disturbed after receiving Sri. @AmitShah's concise letter discoursing on the empty promises made to Andhra Pradesh. Despite proving all the facts and figures of BJP wrong, the letter evidently expresses highly insensitive and insulting content towards the people of AP."

"It is saddening to not have our genuine requirements met by the Central Government. We had modestly demanded funds that were already promised to us in the Reorganisation Act as there is a need for AP to have a 'levelled' playing field for competing with other states.," Naidu said in a follow up tweet.

Naidu, who is the TDP chief, said his decision to pull out of the central government was solely to fight for five crore people of his state.
In his latest tweet, Naidu said:"My decisions are only and wholly guided by the wishes of my people, the 5 crore citizens of Andhra Pradesh. I had promised to fight for their right and I have kept my word."

Naidu's reaction came after Shah said in a letter, "(TDP) decision is both unfortunate as well as unilateral. It is a decision; I am afraid, will be construed as being guided wholly and solely by political considerations instead of development concerns."
The BJP President said the central government is committed to develop Andhra Pradesh.
Shah said: "Andhra Pradesh is the only state to receive the award of revenue deficit grants for all the five years besides the north-eastern and hilly states. Does that not show that the Central Government has been sensitive to the needs of Andhra Pradesh?"
Shah's letter has been quoted by The Indian Express.
The TDP had withdrawn itself from the NDA government over the demands of a special status for the state.
The Andhra Pradesh ruling party had alleged that the BJP-led NDA government failed to fulfill the promises it made to the state.
The TDP had first withdrawn its two ministers from the NDA government.
Days after quitting the ministries, Naidu's party pulled itself from the NDA government.
