Bengaluru, Jan 10 (IBNS): Blowing the poll bugle in Karnataka, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President Amit Shah joined the Parivartana Yatra as the southern state is heading towards its poll this year.

The Yatra has been organised by former Karnataka Chief Minister and present BJP state President Yeddyurappa.

Shah is presently eyeing on to establish BJP's strong hold in Karnataka, ruled by the Congress.

The BJP, which has mere presence in the southern states, will look to place their feet with Karnataka poll.

At present BJP has 44 seats under its belt as opposed to incumbent Congress' 123 seats in Karnataka.

Karnataka has remained one of the few Congress bastions after the saffron brigade reigned in major parts of the country.

The BJP is ruling in 19 states, one more than what Congress did under former Prime Minister late Indira Gandhi.

Shah, who has been touring various parts of the country, is eyeing on to capture powers in states like Karnataka, Kerala, Odisha, West Bengal, Tripura.
