New Delhi/IBNS: After nine rounds of military talks of disengagement between India and China along the Line of Actual Control (LAC), People's Liberation Army (PLA) is reinforcing heavy military equipment in Tibet, said a Hindustan Times report.

The report said PLA is moving troops and deploying artillery guns, surface-to- missile units, propelled howitzers in all the three sectors in the finger area of Pangong Tso.

New construction work, including constructions of revetments, new large sheds and partition quarters for troops, was observed last month near the Rudok surveillance facility, 90 km from the LAC, the HT report informed.

Last year, on May 5, the troops of PLA tried to change the status quo on finger area on the northern banks of Pangong Tso.

The report said 20 military vehicles and equipment were deployed around the Piue radar site, 16 km from the LAC. The PLA is also making fortifications around Spanggur Tso where weapons and troops were stationed in December, last year.

In the second half of January this year, a surface-to-air missile was moved to Lhasa, the capital of Tibet, under camouflage. The missiles and anti-aircraft guns were deployed across all important towns along the LAC,  fearing Indian Air Force attack on Tibet's hinterland, HT reported.

It also said that the PHL-03 multi-barrel rocket launchers (MBRLs), a Chinese copy of Russian Smerch Rocket system with the Indian Army, at Rubinka PLA camp just 23 km from the India-China Bhutan tri-junction and a new military military shelter comprising 4-5 barracks near Lipu Lekh are of grave concern.
