Amid salary defaults, Jet Airways cancels 14 flights

New Delhi, Dec 3 (IBNS): Amid salary defaults, private airline Jet Airways has cancelled 14 flights on Sunday after protesting pilots called in sick, media reports said.

The pilots were protesting against unpaid salaries.

Due to severe cash crunch, payment of senior management, pilots and engineers have not been paid salaries by Jet Airways since August.

However, an airline spokesperson said the flights were cancelled "due to an unforeseen operational circumstance, not pilot non-cooperation", NDTV reported.

The airline said the passengers were informed about the cancellation of flights through SMS and they would also be accommodated and compensated.
