Amid cold war, Nitish Kumar meets Tejashwi Yadav

Patna, July 18 (IBNS): Amid cold war between the two parties, JD(U) and RJD, over Bihar Deputy CM's holding on to post despite charges against him, chief minister Nitish Kumar met Tejashwi Yadav on Tuesday.

Nitish met Tejashwi alone for the first time after the charges of corruption were brought against the Dy CM of the state.

Though the Bihar CM earlier preferred a resignation of Tejashwi following the pressure put on him by the Opposition BJP, the Congress intervened and tried to mediate between the two leaders.

RJD chief Lalu Prasad, who is also the father of Tejashwi, said his son would not resign.

Reports suggested that Ashok Choudhary, a senior Congress leader, who is also a minister of the coalition government, mediated between the tension between the two sides.

In 2015. a grand alliance by the JD(U), the RJD and the Congress won the Assembly Election to crush BJP's dream of capturing the power in Bihar.
