Amarnath Yatra: Fresh batch of 2,155 pilgrims leave from Jammu base camp

Jammu/UNI: A fresh batch of 2155 pilgrims amidst the chants of 'Bam Bam Bhole' on Friday left from Bhagwati Nagar Base camp here for Shri Amarnath Cave Shrine in South Kashmir Himalayas.

An official said that 2155 pilgrims left the base camp in a convoy of 95 vehicles.

A group of 1402 pilgrims (1128 males, 228 females, 34 Sadhus and 12 sadhvis) left for Pahalgam in a convoy of 58 vehicles.

For Baltal, 753 pilgrims comprising 532 males, 215 females and six children left in a convoy of 37 vehicles amid tight security arrangements.

The yatra started on July 1 and will conclude on August 31.
