Lucknow/IBNS: Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav will not contest the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections early next year, media reports said.

The former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister said Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) for the polls has been finalised.

"Our alliance with RLD is final. Seat sharing is to be finalised," he told PTI in an interview.

He also did not deny an alliance with his uncle Shivpal Yadav's Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party Lohia (PSPL) in the polls and said he and his men will be given due honour.
