Ajit Doval appointed as National Security Adviser

New Delhi, May 30 (IBNS): The Central government on Friday approved the appointment of former IPS officer Ajit Doval as National Security Adviser to the Prime Minister.

"The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Shri Ajit Doval, IPS (Retired) as National Security Adviser," Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions said in a statement.

The appointment of Doval is effective from Friday on approved standard terms and conditions.

The appointment will be co-terminus with the term of the Prime Minister or till further orders, whichever is earlier.
