New Delhi: The airports across north India have been put on high alert after intelligence report said four heavily-armed terrorists of Pakistan based Jaish-e-Mohammed have entered Delhi with the intention to launch attacks in the festive season.

Security measures have been tightened in the airports in the region and the security forces have launched searches, especially in the crowded areas of the city, officials have said.

The threat indicated by the intel report was discussed at the Prime Minister's residence, reports said.

Security agencies have been receiving reports of possible terrorist attacks after the abrogation of Article 370 and bifurcation of Jammu and Kashmir into two union territories.

Indian security agencies have been in a state of high alert after intelligence warned a terror plan targetting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and National Security Adviser Ajit Dowal.

A security alert has also issued to all states after a threat named 30 major Indian cities.
