A passenger in Air India complained that he found a cockroach in the omelette served onboard the flight that was travelling from New Delhi to New York.

The passenger said she suffered food poisoning after eating the food.

The passenger said she found the cockroach in the food after she had completed eating half of it with her two-year-old child.

She wrote: "Found a cockroach in the omelette served to me on the @airindia  flight from Delhi to New York. My 2 year old finished more than half of it with me when we found this. Suffered from food poisoning as a result."

Air India asked the passenger to share her booking details for an investigation into the matter.

" Dear Ms. Savant, we're very sorry to hear about your experience. Please share your booking details via DM so that we can investigate promptly," the private carrier said.
