Mumbai, Sept 22 (IBNS): An Air India flight from Delhi to Vijayawada faced severe turbulence which led to the ripping off of the commode in one of the lavatories.

The turbulence also resulted in littering the aisle of the passenger cabin with meal trays.

The incident occurred on Sept 17 onboard AI-467, which  took off from Delhi around 7 PM.

According to reports, some members of cabin crew also received minor injuries.

The passengers were having meal when the turbulence had hit the flight.

According to reports, these kind of turbulence are common during this time of the year but this was an extreme case.

An Air India official confirmed the incident but said no one was injured onboard.

Meanwhile, media reports said another Air India flight from Delhi to Thiruvanathanpuram, via Kochi, was hit by the turbulence on Friday.

The flight had 172 passengers onboard.
