Air Chief Marshal visits Air Command in Allahabad

Allahabad, Apr 21 (IBNS): Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha and his wife Lily Raha on Monday visited Headquarters Central Air Command in Allahabad.

"On 21 Apr 14, Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha PVSM AVSM VM ADC Chief of the Air Staff and Mrs Lily Raha, President Air Force Wives Welfare Association (AFWWA) were in Allahabad on an official visit at Headquarters Central Air Command," the India Air Force (IAF) said in a statement.

"Air Chief Marshal Raha earlier had tenure in Allahabad in the capacity of Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief and it was a privilege for HQ CAC to host him as CAS. The CAS and President AFWWA arrived by service aircraft and were received by Air Marshal J Chauhan PVSM AVSM VSM ADC Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, CAC and Mrs. Harminder Chauhan, President AFWWA (Regional) along with the key personnel at Bamrauli Airport," it said.

The CAS reviewed a ceremonial ‘Guard of Honour’ presented by the air warriors.

On his arrival at HQ CAC, the Air Chief addressed all personnel including civilian employees in a Hollow Square Parade held at Headquarters lawn.

In his address, he emphasized on the Man-Mission-Machine interface and advised the personnel to continue the momentum in bringing the CAC as a potent strategic command.

Later, he addressed the senior officers of HQ CAC and the Commanders under the jurisdiction of CAC on his perspective and shared his vision to transform IAF into a potent strategic aerospace power.

The CAS thereafter went around the campus and reviewed the progress of various ongoing Works Services Projects relating to administrative and operational preparedness.

The Air Chief Marshal expressed satisfaction on the infrastructure facilities and working environment of the Command. In the evening, he interacted with SNCOs’ of CAC and later attended a Social Evening in Officers’ Mess along with Mrs. Raha. 

Meanwhile, Lily Raha presided over the Board of Management (BoM) meeting of AFWWA (Regional).

Harminder Chauhan President AFWWA (Regional) and other senior Executive members and Presidents of AFWWA (Local) of Stations under CAC were present in the meeting.

She also carried out a review of various activities being undertaken for the welfare of the Sanginis and their families. President AFWWA also attended a meeting with sanginis of HQ CAC followed by High Tea.

She visited Sanskriti shopping arcade run by AFWWA (Regional) and was impressed with meticulous upkeep of various AFWWA run ventures like ‘Ummeed Vidya Kiran’, school for the underprivileged, and ‘Bachpan’, the AFWWA play school. She lauded the contributions of all concerned with the management of these ventures.

Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha and Lily Raha would be leaving for Delhi on Tuesday morning. They will be seen off by Air Marshal J Chauhan and Harminder Chauhan.
