Ahead of crucial polls, Modi-Shah to meet BJP Chief Ministers today

New Delhi, Aug 28 (IBNS): With few months to go for three crucial state polls and 2019 General Elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president Amit Shah on Tuesday will meet several Chief Ministers who belongs to the saffron outfit, media reports said.

The BJP presently has 15 Chief Ministers and seven deputy Chief Ministers in the country.

The meeting has assumed significance as assembly elections in three states- Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan- are due at the end of the year.

All the states are presently under the rule of the BJP.

Giving worry for Amit Shah and his party, a recent opinion poll predicted that the Congress will defeat the BJP in all the three states.

According to media reports, Modi and Shah will ask the Chief Ministers to guess the number of Lok Sabha seats the saffron party might get in 2019.

The Prime Minister and the BJP chief are also likely to discuss how to get the support of parties who are prepping up to form a United Front to defeat Narendra Modi in the next General Elections.
