Agartala-Bangalore Hum Safar Express derails along Assam-Tripura border

Guwahati, Apr 30  (IBNS): The 12504 Agartala-Bangalore Hum Safar Express on Tuesday morning derailed between Churaibari and Kalkalighat stations under Lumding Division of N.F. Railway along Assam-Tripura border.

Two wheels of the front trolley of engine got derailed and the location is about 26 km away from Karimganj station in Assam.

There is no report of any causality in the incident.

According to the N.F. Railway, Accident Relief Train (ART) immediately left from Badarpur for the site. Additional General Manager along with high officials from Head Quarters and Division rushed to the spot.

The train was pulled back by a relief engine to Churaibari station where passengers were provided with all necessary assistance.

The Accident Relief Train immediately started work after reaching the site and as a result derailed wheels the engine were put back to normal position. The track was declared fit for train movement at 12-10 pm.

The N.F. Railway will investigate the cause of accident.
