Srinagar/IBNS: Days after taking oath as Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah Sunday participated in the Kashmir marathon where he recorded a personal milestone of running 21 km.

Taking to X, Abdullah shared the update and visuals from his impressive run.

"I'm so damn pleased with myself today. I completed the Kashmir Half Marathon - 21 KM at an average pace of 5 min 54 sec per KM," he said in the post.

In a separate post, he also aimed to inspire others for a good run and lead a drug-free life.

National Conference leader Omar Abdullah on Wednesday took oath as the Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister, eight days after the NC-Congress alliance came to power in the assembly elections.

Abdullah became the Chief Minister of the inaugural government in Jammu and Kashmir, which is now a union territory, since Article 370 was abrogated by the Centre on August 5, 2019.

In its historic elections, NC-Congress won 48 seats (42 of NC and 6 of Congress) with majority of them yielded from the Kashmir valley while the Bharatiya Janata Party swept the Jammu region winning 29 seats.
