After Brexit, Indians and EU citizens to be treated on par for visas

| @indiablooms | Dec 19, 2018, at 10:14 pm

London, Dec 19 (IBNS): The British government on Wednesday announced that citizens from 27 European Union countries and those from India and elsewhere will be treated on par for purpose of migration after Brexit, media reports said.

The new rule will pave way for a fresh and updated visa route for skilled migrants.

The proposal will scrap the annual 20,700 limit for work permits.

However all these will come into force from 2021, if all processes of Brexit are completed.

According to reports, the new proposal is likely to benefit Indian professionals, who in the year ending September 2018 were granted 55 per cent of all Tier 2 (skilled) visas.

The smooth movement of EU citizens to the UK will end on March 29, 2019.
