Actors Trina Saha, Neel Bhattacharya join TMC in West Bengal

Kolkata/IBNS: Television actor couple Trina Saha and Neel Bhattacharya on Saturday became the latest celebrities to join the Trinamool Congress (TMC) ahead of the assembly elections in West Bengal.

Both Trina and her actor husband joined the TMC in presence of senior leader Partha Chatterjee.

"Mamata Banerjee has single-handedly done everything (development). So it is our responsibility to be with her," said Trina at the TMC party headquarters.

"It's an honour and a dream for me to get an opportunity to be with the person (Mamata Banerjee) who has inspired me throughout my life," said Neel.

Interestingly, Mamata had visited the marriage ceremony of Neel and Trina who have recently tied nuptial knot.

Ahead of the Bengal polls, both the TMC and its adversary Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have inducted several film personalities to the respectively party folds and nominated them to contest the state polls.
