AAP, Mamata Banerjee see BJP's role behind attack on Arvind Kejriwal

New Delhi, May 4 (IBNS): Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee are seeing a role by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) behind the attack on Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who was slapped by a person during a roadshow in the national capital on Saturday.

Following the incident, AAP has put up a tweet saying, "Its not an attack on @ArvindKejriwal. Its an attack on Delhi and its mandate. The people of Delhi will give a befitting reply to @BJP4India on 12th of May. "

Making a serious allegation against the BJP, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia tweeted, "Do Modi and Amit Shah want to kill Arvind Kejriwal? Do they want to remove Kejriwal this way after failing to demoralise and defeat him? Kejriwal is BJP's nemesis."

Accusing the BJP of resorting to violence after knowing its imminent defeat in the Lok Sabha polls, Banerjee, the West Bengal Chief Minister, tweeted, "Political vandalism. Political goondaism. Political vendetta. Maligning and attacking Oppn leaders show that BJP have lost the election and are making desperate attempts. We condemn the attack on @ArvindKejriwal We are all with you, Arvind "

The attacker was caught on camera attacking Kejriwal while the CM was participating in the roadshow.

He was present in an open jeep when he was attacked by the man, who could be seen in a video wearing a red t-shirt.

The attacker was caught by the police.

This is not the first time Kejriwal has been publicly attacked. He was earlier slapped, attacked with a shoe, chili power.

Kejriwal's AAP, a rival of BJP, is fighting the Lok Sabha battle solo in Delhi.
