AAP holds demonstration outside EC office on EVM issue

| | May 11, 2017, at 07:54 pm
New Delhi, May 11 (IBNS) : Activists of the ruling Aam Aadmi Party on Thursday hit the street , holding a demonstration outside the Election Commission office, demanding introduction of voter-verifiable paper audit trail (VVPAT)- equipped EVMs for fair polling, reports said.

The demonstration was led by the party's newly appointed Delhi Convenor Gopal Rai as the party alleged that the EVMs being used at present are prone to tampering and are being used by the BJP for manipulating poll results.

The demonstration comes at a time when the party, struggling to recover from the series of poll debacles has further been hit by a rebellion with former Minister Kapil Mishra accusing Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal of accepting cash.
