AAP accuses BJP of indulging in horse trading in Goa

Panaji, Mar 25 (UNI): The Aam Adami Party (AAP) in Goa on Monday accused Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of indulging in horse trading to remain in power taking advantage of a weak Opposition.

Addressing a press conference in the city, Goa AAP convenor and South Goa Lok Sabha candidate Elvis Gomes enumerated series of defections happening among all parties in the state and cited the examples of Sudhir Kandolkar quitting the BJP and joining Congress.

He said had Joshua D’souza been denied the BJP ticket, the roles would have been reversed wherein Joshua would have landed in Congress.

Mr Gomes also said though the AAP would not like to enter into the internal workings of the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP) but the manner in which former MLA and MGP general secretary Lavu Mamledar was treated did not present a picture of decency and showed that the common man had no place in the MGP hierarchy.

The AAP leader also highlighted the going ons in the Goa Forward Party and said that the much celebrated entry of Babush Monseratte into the party as vice president was short lived as their personal compulsions far outweighed their party commitments.

“Babush leaving GF appears to be more of a setting, intentionally done to send the signal to the BJP that the alliance partner have other options also,” he said.

AAP Goa general secretary Pradeep Padgaonkar said there was a time when in General Knowledge who’s who was a very important topic under current affairs but Goa was witnessing a situation wherein it had become difficult to determine who was who as at any given time a person could either be about to defect or had defected to another political party.
