9 people killed, six injured in two road mishaps in Assam

Guwahati, Feb 21 (IBNS): At least 9 people were killed and six others were injured in two separate road mishaps in Assam in past 24 hours.

According to reports, three people died and four others were injured when an Innova car smashed into a bridge and flipped onto its side at Dokmoka area in Assam’s Karbi Anglong district.

The car was carrying seven people and came from Nagaland’s Dimapur to Tura in Meghalaya.

The speeding vehicle lost control and struck the bridge and fell down.

The injured persons were rushed to Diphu civil hospital.

On the other hand, six people were killed and two others injured following head on collision between a speedy truck and an auto tempo vehicle on National Highway – 31 at Baraimari area in Bongaigaon district on Wednesday.

Five people died on spot and one had succumbed to his injuries at hospital.
