Srinagar July 9 (IBNS): At least eight people have been killed during clashes on Saturday in Jammu and Kashmir, a day after Hizbul commander Burhan Muzaffar Wani was killed by security forces.

Clashes have left 200 others injured, reports said.

Police stations and minority camps have also come under attack, a senior officer was quoted as saying by NDTV.

Violent protests hit several parts of Jammu and Kashmir with mobs attacking police posts, security personnel and a BJP office in Kulgam, media reported.

Earlier, police imposed restrictions in Pulwama district and parts of Srinagar city, suspended mobile internet services in Kashmir Valley, and temporarily suspended Amarnath Yatra.

Top Hizb ul Mujhadeen militant Burhan Wani was killed in an encounter with security forces on Friday.

Authorities on Friday placed several Hurriyat leaders under house arrest to prevent them from leading rallies against the killing of Burhan Wani.
