Guwahati/IBNS: Eight hardcore insurgents from NSCN (IM) and NSCN (K-YA) surrendered before the security forces of Spear Corps and Arunachal Police in Longding in Arunachal Pradesh.

Continuing with its efforts to wean away misguided cadres from the clutches of insurgency, security forces have been instrumental in persuading and providing necessary assistance to active insurgents to join the mainstream.

In present case, relentless efforts by Indian Army, Assam Rifles in conjunction with Arunachal Police convinced the active insurgents to leave insurgency and join the mainstream.

Such surrenders would also motivate other insurgents to join the mainstream.
