7 die as bus falls into river in Madhya Pradesh

Raisen, MP, Oct 3 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh dispensation sanctioned Rs 4 lakh as ex gratia on Thursday against each of the seven fatalities caused when a bus plunged into the Reechhan river.

Some of the injured are undergoing treatment at the District Infirmary whereas the serious cases are admitted at the state capital’s government-run Hamidia Hospital.

School Education Minister Prabhuram Chaudhary visited them, doled out Rs 7,000 to each of the grievously hurt, Rs 5,000 each to others and consoled the bereaved families who were provided immediate aid of Rs 10,000 each by the Red Cross.

The ill-fated vehicle – heading for Chhatarpur from Bhopal – veered off a bridge at approximately 0130 hrs in the vicinity of Raisen Dargah.

Locals risked their lives while helping the administrative machinery in the rescue operation.

The deceased were identified as Chhatarpur’s Deepak Bansal (1) and Ravi Bansal (22); Sagar District’s Uzefa (19), Mohammad Anwar (29) and Aasheesh; Raisen’s Sagar Malviya (45) and BL Malviya.
