5.5 earthquake hits Assam
Guwahati, Jan 3 (IBNS) : An earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale hit Assam on Tuesday afternoon triggering widespread panic, reports said.
No reports of casualty have been received so far.
The earthquake had its epicentre near Ambassa in Tripura, meteorological office said.
Almost all the northeastern states felt the tremor, reports said.
