5.4M earthquake hits Andaman and Nicobar Islands, no casualty reported
Port Blair, Sep 6 (IBNS): A quake of magnitude 5.4 on the Richter Scale hit the Andaman and Nicobar Islands early on Wednesday morning, according to United States Geological Survey (USGS).
The earthquake hit 162 kilometres south-west of the capital, Port Blair.
No casualty has been reported as of yet.
The quake was deemed moderate as an earthquake must measure at least 6 on the Richter Scale to be considered strong.
