Hyderabad, Apr 7 (IBNS): At least five suspected militants were shot dead by the police in Telangana's Warangal on Tuesday, media reports said.

The police reportedly opened fire at them when the five people attempted to escape from police custody.

The militants attacked the police officials escorting them as they were being taken to a court in Hyderabad from Warangal.

"According to police officials, the terrorists also tried to snatch the weapons and escape after which the security personnel opened fire killing all of them," CNN-IBN reported.
