While the Congress has formed an alliance with DMK to gain lost grounds, AIADMK chief and TN Chief Minister Jayalalithaa in her assembly agenda promised free laptops and wifi along with a host of other amenities, if re-elected to power.
Her main adversary, the nonagenarian DMK chief M Karunanidhi has, however, exuded confidence of a victory denying Jayalalithaa's AIADMK a chance to return to power for the second successive term.
Rains lashed various parts of Tamil Nadu on Monday, causing inconvenience to voters who queued up at polling booths to exercise their franchise in assembly elections.
