Srinagar/UNI: Security forces destroyed a hideout of Lashkar-e-Taiba and arrested four group associates in Jammu and Kashmir’s Awantipora sub-district, police said on Monday.

Police said the militant hideout was busted and destroyed at Hafoo Nageenpora forests of Awantipora by joint forces.

Police said a joint operation was launched at Hafoo Nigeenpora forests following a specific input.

“During the search, a hideout used by terrorists was busted and subsequently destroyed. Incriminating materials and other items were recovered from the hideout,” a police statement said.

Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Tral and an investigation was initiated.

“During the preliminary investigation, so far four terrorist associates linked with proscribed terror outfit LeT have been arrested,” police said.

They were identified as Arif Bashir Bhat, Mohsin Ahmad Lone, Manzoor Ahmad Wani and Irshad Ahmad Ahangar, all residents of Reshipora.

“They were involved in providing logistic support to active terrorists of LeT in the area,” police said, adding investigation of the case is going on and more arrests are expected.
