21-year-old Delhi girl killed by parents for marrying outside caste

New Delhi, Nov 20 (IBNS): In a shocking case, a 21-year-old Delhi woman, who had married outside her caste, was allegedly killed in Dwarka by her parents, reports said on Thursday.
The accused then secretly cremated their daughter in a village in Alwar.

The suspected case of honour killing was reported on Sunday morning.

According to reports, police have arrested the woman’s father, Jagmohan Yadav and mother, Savitri.

Police said the parents confessed to having killed and cremated their daughter.

The victim, Bhawna, married Abhishek Seth, who works as an assistant programmer at the Cabinet Secretariat in Rashtrapati Bhavan, on Nov 12 despite her parents' refusal.

The couple studied together in Delhi’s Venkateshwara College and wanted to marry but the woman’s family objected as Abhishek belongs to a different caste, reports said.

The two later married in an Arya Samaj temple in Mandir Marg. They also got their marriage registered in court.
