16 security personnel killed in Maoist attack in Maharashtra's Gadchiroli

Gadchiroli, May 1 (IBNS): Sixteen security personnel were killed in an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast carried out by Maoists in Maharashtra's Gadchiroli on Wednesday, media reports said.

PM Modi condemns attack Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted, "Strongly condemn the despicable attack on our security personnel in Gadchiroli, Maharashtra. I salute all the brave personnel. Their sacrifices will never be forgotten. My thoughts & solidarity are with the bereaved families. The perpetrators of such violence will not be spared."

Earlier on Wednesday, Maoists had set 27 machines and vehicles on fire in the same district.
