10 Maoists arrested from Noida

Noida, Oct 16 (IBNS): At least 10 Maoists have been arrested by the UP ATS from Noida, media reports said.

According to reports, explosives and weapons were recovered from them.

UP ATS IG Asim Arun was quoted as saying by The Times of India that the group was trying to create a base in the region.

"When we became sure of the illegal activities, we conducted the operation on Saturday night. We arrested five persons from the spot with huge cache of arms and detonators. Based on the details of interrogation, the police conducted a raid on Sunday morning in Sadarpur area and arrested four more Maoist suspects," Arun was quoted as saying by the news paper.
