Jammu and Kashmir to vote for first time since scrapping of Article 370 to elect new Assembly in three phases, result on October 4

New Delhi: Jammu and Kashmir will vote to elect a new Assembly in three phases for the first time since Article 370 was scrapped by the Indian government in 2019.

The Election Commission of India on Friday announced Jammu and Kashmir will vote on September 18, September 25, and October 1.

The region has been under Governor's rule since 2018.

The results will be declared on October 4.

There are 90 seats in the J&K Assembly post delimitation.

The last Assembly poll was held in the Himalayan region in 2014.

Apart from Jammu and Kashmir, the ECI announced that voting to elect a new Assembly will also be held in Haryana in a single phase on October 1.

The counting of votes will be held on October 4.

Recently,voting was held in Jammu and Kashmir during the Lok Sabha polls.
