Srinagar/IBNS/UNI: Former J&K Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad will contest the polls from the Anantnag-Rajouri Lok Sabha seat.

The announcement was made by senior Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPA) leader, Taj Mohiuddin in Srinagar on Tuesday.

“Today we had a core committee meeting and that has decided that Azad sahib will contest polls from Anantnag-Rajouri seat,” Taj Mohiuddin said in Srinagar.

The former Congress leader Azad, who now heads DPAP, is the second candidate whose name has been announced for the Anantnag Lok Sabha seat.

On Monday, National Conference fielded veteran Gujjar leader Mian Altaf for the all-important South Kashmir seat.
