New Delhi/UNI: Severe cold conditions continued to grip the national capital, impacting flight and train movements to and from the national capital on Friday morning.

The arrival of nearly two dozen passenger trains to Delhi was delayed by up to 6 hours or more and several flights were also late due to fog and poor visibility conditions.

According to Indian Railways, around 22 Delhi-bound trains are running behind schedule following the dense fog conditions in many parts of the country. At least seven trains are expected to arrive

late by around 2-2.45 hours.

Dense fog and low visibility affected several flight operations at the Indira Gandhi International airport Delhi.

Several passengers complained of delayed arrival of flights at Delhi airport.

As per the India Meteorological Department, the visibility was recorded as low as 50 metres at around 5.30 am on Friday. This included parts of Punjab, West Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi, Tripura, Uttarakhand, East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and East Rajasthan.

Meanwhile, the minimum temperatures in many parts of north India were recorded in the range of 3-6 degree Celsius.

The National Capital today witnessed a minimum temperature of 7.1 degrees, one notch below normal.

IMD predicted that the similar conditions will continue till January 25.
