MEA Randhir Jaiswal on Wednesday took charge as the Official Spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs.
He is succeeding Arindam Bagchi.
Bagchi has been appointed as India's Permanent Representative to the United Nations.
He was appointed as the spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs in March 2021.
During his tenure, several important events and issues, including the Eastern Ladakh border dispute, India’s COVID-19 management, India’s G-20 chairmanship, occurred.

Randhir Jaiswal had earlier served as consul general of India to New York.
