Odisha: Thousands of devotees throng Tulashi Khetra to witness Debasnan Purnima

Kendrapada: Debasnana Purnima observed at Baladevjew temple of Tulashi Khetra,the abode of Lord Baladevjew -the elder brother of Jagannath, on Sunday with much pomp , devotion and religious fervour.

Thousands of devotees, throng Tulashi Khetra to witness the Mahasnana Utsav , the bathing ceremony of Trinity.

The Servitors ( sebayats )and priests on Sunday early morning brought the Trinity from Sanctum sanctorum to Snana Mandap.

In dhadi pahandi and later organised Mangala arati, Niti snana,Balav manohi and poured 108 pots of scented sandal water on the deities feet to complete the bathing rituals of the three deities.

While the servitors pour 108 scented pot water on the head of the three deities at Puri's Shreekhetra, but here , the sebayats poured water on the feet of Trinity.

Later, the Gajanana Vesha was held at the snana Mandap .

The deities pahandi to anasara ghar is scheduled to be held at 9 PM in the night.

Snan Purnima was also observed at Padmabana pitha (Mahapurusha Achyutananda tomb ) of Nemala on the bank of sacred Chitroptala river.

Hundreds of devotees braving scorching heat thronged the Pitha to witness snan purnima.

Elaborate police arrangements have been made to maintain law and order situation , said Dillip Mohanty, the tehsildar of Nischantakoili.
