Rahul Gandhi is Mir Jafar of Indian polity: BJP leader Sambit Patra

New Delhi/UNI: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has once again lashed out at Congress MP Rahul Gandhi over his recent remark abroad.

"Just like Mir Jafar took help from East India Company to become Nawab, Rahul Gandhi is seeking 'help' from foreign nations as part of his shameful agenda" said BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra here on Tuesday.

"It would not be an aberration to say that Rahul Gandhi is a present day Mir Jafar of the Indian Polity...History repeats itself! This present day's Mir Jafar Must Apologise," Patra said.

The spokesperson said that, "It's utterly shameful that Rahul Gandhi termed the pillar institutions of democracy in India as 'Deep States'."

"He drew a 'similarity' of Indian institutions with Pakistan's ISI. Indian Media, Judiciary," Patra said.

Patra said that Rahul Gandhi, through his remarks, has given an open invitation to the foreign countries to come and 'protect' the democracy in India.

"Mani Shankar Aiyar and Rahul Gandhi are doing the same thing; both are defaming India" he said.

Pointing out the participation of Rahul Gandhi in Parliamentary debate, Patra said, "Debate is the soul of democracy but Rahul Gandhi had only participated only six times since 2019. He is not participating in the debate."

Further attacking Gandhi on his remarks of saying “unfortunately I'm an MP”, Patra said, “Rahul Gandhi doesn't know what to say. He speaks only with the help of Jairam Ramesh. He himself said that 'unfortunately I am an MP.”

The Congress MP Rahul Gandhi speaking in the UK recently, had alleged that the structures of Indian democracy are under “brutal attack” and BJP and RSS have captured almost all institutions.
