New Delhi/IBNS: Former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister and top Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia has been accused of being involved in an alleged corruption in the city government's Feedback Unit (FBU), media reports said.

The AAP government formed FBU after coming to power in 2015.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which has registered a case against Sisodia, claimed as quoted by NDTV, "The unlawful manner of creation and working of the Feedback Unit has caused wrongful loss to the government exchequer to the tune of approximate ₹ 36 Lakhs."

Defending Sisodia, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal tweeted, "PM’s plan is to slap several false cases against Manish and keep him in custody for a long period. Sad for the country!"

On Feb 26, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested Sisodia after questioning him on various aspects of the excise policy for 2021-22.

According to the federal investigation agency, the excise policy suffered from irregularities in its formulation and implementation.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED), which is probing the financial irregularities in the liquor policy, has also arrested Sisodia, who is a confidante of Chief Minister Kejriwal.
